Travelling and Exploring with Margaret

Working with Mercedes Harris of Vedani Botanicals, Margaret is the co-creater of the educational series of Green Events and Retreats. Together they have run a series of one day events (e.g. ‘The Green Skin Event’ at Broughton Castle in Oxfordshire) as well as hosting residential retreats around the UK for either a weekend or a fully immersive week. For example, 12 guests joined the wonderful ‘The Green Women’s Apothecary’ at Cadhay Manor House in Devon for a week of vegetarian food, yoga, meditation, walks and a series of informal workshops. Using flowers, herbs, essential oils and even baking skills, they explored natural solutions for hormone related issues.

Inspired by her first trip abroad, at the age of 9, which took her through the endless sunflower plantations and heavenly fragrant rose fields of Bulgaria, Margaret loves to explore, research and truly get under the skin of the place. For example on a recent trip to India she independently discovered a small tribal colony who grow and distil their own lemongrass. Should you have an interest in Javanese patchouli oil or the secret gardens of Marrakech, Margaret is your woman.

Circumstances permitting, Margaret likes to run annual education tours. Attracting like-minded people Margaret offers truly unique experiences, from the discovery of hidden cultural treasures to beautiful boat trips in the backwaters and dinner under the stars.

Previous trips have included aromatherapy study tours in Kerala & Tamil Nadu visiting India’s tea and spice gardens, flower markets and temples and the sandalwood forests, as well as a research trip to the Northern States to learn about traditional Indian attar production.
